I love both of my friends, but...

Question Posted Monday September 5 2005, 12:40 am

When I moved to my new school I didn't have any friends. (I didn't have any at my previous school either) I met this really awsome girl named Heather. She is completley insane, just like me... Well a year later I made another friend, Sarah. Sarah and Heather have been friends for 10 years. I love heather, sadly enough more than my own sister, but Sarah and I have alot more in commen. We spent the entire summer together, which caused our friendship to grow even stronger. Heather didn't talk to either of us all summer. When we started back to school Sarah and I talk quite a bit, and tend to leave Heather out of the conversation. This has been going on for more than 2 years...I know it sounds concieded, but I think I'm tearing them apart...what can I do. Some people have said to make other friends and give them some time, but I'm a complete social outcast, and they are the only friends I have.

Heey, I'm going through a rough patch with my closest friends too. Well sort of. Three of my closest friends moved away this year and it sucks, so first of all: I'm glad you appreciate their friendship. Number two, I can see where this is going. If you dont get together, the three of you, and talk about it, things wont get better. Its good that you realise there's a bit of a problem, and its incredible that you care that you might be tearing them apart, what with people these days. I think that the three of you should talk about it, and you should tell them that - that you think you might be causing a rift between them and that you want to know where things stand. You never know, Han, maybe Heather will make new friends. I say, dont leave it hanging. Things are usually like this when people are close and there's three of them, but it always turns out for the best when you face the truth, talk about it and get things sorted. The best of luck to you =).
