nose piercing
hey all i have been thinking about getting my nose pierced, but i would first like to learn about it. just the basic stuff like if it hurts, is it hard to take care of, is it often irritating, is the piercing dangerous, about how much would it cost, and any other useful information you would like to share. thanks!

Well. I pierced my nose myself and I personally didnt think that it hurt, but I have a high pain tolerance. People tend to say it hurts because its thick cartilage, but it all depends on the person and how you react to pain. As for taking care of it, it isnt hard. You clean it with a Qtip and some alcohol or peroxide, or they might give you some stuff at the place that you get it pierced. I didnt find it irritating because air gets to it and nothing rubs up against it. Its not too dangerous either because of the reasons I just said, lol. I havent heard of many getting infected, but it all dependson how often you clean it and such. As for cost, it also depends on the place that you go too. I think it would probably cost around 20 bucks. My tongue ring cost 30, and I know nose rings cost less.

I don't know how bad it hurts...I can imagine, but I hate needles so it wouldn't be an unbiased answer. I did find a useful link for you about it. It tells you everything you need to know including healing times and what to look for as far as problems that can occur. Hope it helps you out.

Alright personally i think it isnt that bad in pain but everybody handles pain differently.. if you have like your cartlige pierced id say it hurts about the same so maybe a ***6*** but it doesnt hurt none after about an hour from my experience.. but you will feel a lil bit of pain.. its not hard taking care of it.. if you can keep your ears cleaned then you got the responsibility to take care of a nose piercing.. and no it isnt irratating you would think it would bother the inside of your nose or stab you but nopers it sure doesnt.. i mean if you got hit in your nose that hurts ive had that happen.. and the piercing can be dangerous if its pierced wron but if you go see a professional then you shouldnt worry.. i **wouldnt** suggest doing it yourself tho.. i wouldnt know how much it cost cause i didnt pay to get mine done.. sorry i couldnt help much on that question.. ♥ Dez

well, i have my nose pierced, but i did it myself. and it didnt really hurt at all. but then again everyone is different. ihave friends who got it professionally done, and they say that they put a little cork in your nose, and use a long needle to pierce it, and then they put the nose ring in, and they told me it didnt hurt bad. so its probably..4-6, unless your really sensative. but its quick. i also believe its $30 to get it done. its not that hard to take care of, but like earrings, you want to twist it around a little, cause blood might dry around it and it could start to hurt. and using a little alcohol to clean it wouldnt hurt. depending on the type of nose ring, it can sometimes poke you, and it can hurt a little bit. like when you itch your nose or blow it, sometimes the tissue gets stuck on it and it pulls a little. also, depending on the kind of post..(mine is a star with a straight post) it can get stuck on other things, i recommend you getting a small diamond, circular, with a ball at the end, its harder for those kind to get stuck on anything and tug. im sure you dont want to here about the negative things, but it looks great. and they really arent that bad. sorry this is so long, but i hope i helped you out.

it doesnt hurt much, its not irritating..and an infection is not very common unless you touch it constantly.I got it done for about 60$ but I bet you can find a cheaper place than that....just make sure you dont get it caught when you wipe your face with a towel...that hurts
