I don't understand why both Jews AND Christians see Jews as the chosen people? I can guess why Jews do, I mean, who wouldn't want to be from a chosen people, but why christians?
The reason that Christians and Jews believe the Jews are the "Chosen People" is because of what God has said.
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes : First of the Jew, then for the Gentile." -Romans 1:16 NIV
God saved Jews and Gentiles (anyone who isn't a Jew) alike, through His Son's dying on the cross for our sins. He's forgiven Jews and Gentiles alike. BUT, because Jesus was a Jew, the Jews are the Chosen People. Yes, God loves Gentiles just the same, but if you lay seige to the Chosen People, in any form : persecution, murder, rape, slaughter, theft etc. because they're a Jew, you are messing with the WRONG GOD! If you mess with God's chosen people, He will seek revenge. Yes, this goes both for the Jew and the Gentile, but Jews especially; and those who were martyered for their faith.
The reason Bible-believing Christians see the Jews as the chosen people is because the Bible says they are.
