Im also 13 and ive been through the same thing, sort of. Well my church that i go to we're all very different and i hang out with the college students pretty much because im very mature for my age and theyre the only ones that i can connect with. But when im at church and we're not joking around and playin and stuff we're learning or talking about God. And at the time we dont really pay attention to other people who is there because when your at church all your attention should be focused on God. But like i didnt really talk to any of the people in my youth group so i brought my best friend. But me and her arent friends anymore so i was kinda left out in the dark. But we went to church camp and we all bonded ALOT. And all i can tell you to do is talk to the youth leader and ask her or him for some kind of help on that issue. Now on reading the Bible, you DO NOT read it like a book. This is what i do. Your supposed to have at least 20 minutes of silence with God everyday, and so i read my bible. I just pray that God will let it open up to where he wants me to read for the day. And i just shut my eyes and open it up. And see i read the entire chapter - unless its long then i just find a particular part that i think God is telling me to read. So i read the entire part im reading and then i just kinda think and then i go back to the beginning and i look at the first paragraph and read it and if i have questions then i ask them, to myself or to my partner that i study with ( ill tell you about that in a bit ) but like i figure out how i can adapt this paragraph to my life. Because the bible isnt written to todays culture but back in the day's culture. But its still all the same, you just have to think about it! Because you do not read the bible like a story book, the bible is kinda like a text book for school, except this one is for life. Oh yeah about my study buddy. She's in College and shes pretty much my bestfriend. Because since ive became so involved with church and God alot of people pretty much have stopped being my friend. But me and her get together once a week, or try to - and we kinda just pick something out to read and we discuss it and we talk about life. You should find somebody like that. And if you want me and you can do it, just give me your AIM/AOL screen name and we can chat on there if you want but let me know, and i hope i could help you out!!!
