i am a girl, and i know that if i luv someone, i wudnt let them go just because theyre different around their friend.. i dont know if ur almost girlfriend is the same, but im just saying my input. because my boyfriend is always bein cool around his best friend... but i think its funny that he gives me the specail treatment.
like the other advice, i think you should talk to your friend about it and ask him if he can come do stuff another time. (but remember to tell him about the situation). u should also talk to your almost girl friend about it too, see if shes prepared to possibly wait depending on your friends reactions.

Why can't you be yourself around your male friend? Maybe you need a more understanding friend or to stand up to him and tell him that you want to behave this way when you are with this girl.
Maybe the girl will understand and wait for you, and not go with other guys. All you can do is ask her too. But regardless, you need to stand up to your friend and behave the way you want to.
