Asking Someone Out

Question Posted Friday August 5 2005, 9:15 pm

I really want to ask this person out, but I'm not sure how to do it because I am afraid if I ask them, I will sound like an idiot.

Don't worry about it. The worse thing that could happen is that the person you like says "no." And lets think about this logically: Will you literally die if they say no? No, you won't. So take a chance. All you have to do is take a deep breath and ask that person if they would like to go somewhere with you. If you are really shy, you could go with some other friends. maybe go to the movies, a local coffee/deli shop, the library, etc.

Just get to know them. Start off by saying, "Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me and some friends. You can bring your friends too if you want." Then ask them about theirselves, what kind of music, movies, hobbies they like.

So go ahead and make the first move. Most people love strong, independent people who make the first moves. ;)
