mrs_radcliffe answered Thursday August 4 2005, 11:06 am: Hey! Dont worry sometimes i can get like that. Anyways before you go to sleep read or watch some tv it will take your mind of the film. Just think that its only a film and its made up. If your having a friend sleepover talk to her for a while before you go to sleep.

That might not be practical, but if you don't enjoy them, perhaps you could persuade your friends to see a comedy or something. Well, if you don't want to stop watching them, here are some more ideas.
1. After the film, before you go to sleep, try reading a funny book or watching something funny on TV to take your mind off it.
2. Before you go to sleep, try to meditate. That doesn't involve becoming or Buddhist or buying a yoga mat, but just sit quietly by yourself and try to empty your mind of everything. This could apply to any problems or worries you have. If a thought crosses your mind, just let it pass and concentrate on not thinking of anything. This will relax you and help you sleep better.
3. If all else fails, and it's 3 o' clock in the morning and you can't sleep, put the light on (make sure the door is closed) and just do anything to take your mind off it. This could be reading a book (nothing too challenging), or doing a word puzzle, or playing a game on your cellphone.
4. If you are having consisent trouble sleeping, you could perhaps try herbal sleeping aids, like tablets or putting some lavender oil on your pillow.
Hope this helps! [ FakeArms's advice column | Ask FakeArms A Question ]
