Okay so my mom will not let me get new furniture for my room or do anything that is major so is there any way like that i can decorate my room but not like major redecorating like hanging pictures up and stuff?

Some other things would be stuff from magazines, cd covers, posters. Get words [or pictures] out of magazines and make collages then hang them on the wall. Just find a lot of colorful things and it will make the room brighter and look newer. Just remember, don't get TOO many things, it may begin looking TOO busy. Good luck!

1) add mirrors on the walls. I dont know if your room is small or not but mirrors make your room look bigger and brighter. You could also decorate a long mirror with those gelly things that stick on to windows and stuff. They now have them in shapes of flowers, animals, stars, hearts.
2)Get a cute buliteen board or magnet board and hang up pictures of your friends, family, pets, favorite celebs, and more.
3)Get a medium/big sheet of construction paper and make a collage out of magazines and hang it up.
4)add a cute butterfly, circle, or been bag chair in your room.
5)for hanging up pictures on the wall: get your favorite pictures of friends or family and take them to a Kinkos or picture place and make a copy of them in black & white and get a nice frame and put them up in a cute order.
Whoa! Sorry if I wrote a lot its just i've been through the whole decorating thing. Most of these things you will need like the buliteen board or chairs can be found at Target in the teen bedrom section or you can get some stuff from P.B teen or whereever you get furniture.

Ok, my guess is that maybe you have some mates coming over or something like that, or you're just generally trying to make your room look older, because you don't like wvere it's at. Redecorating isn't about furniture all the time. Sure it's a good thing for a 15 year old to get rid of that "Sylvester and Tweety" set of todler chairs, I'd understand that (I had mine for way too long) What decorating is about, especially if your mother won't let you buy new furniture, is making the stuff you've got look cool. If I still had my little todler table, I'd have long since covered it with a cool piece of fabric, or a throw rug. Decoration is about interesting stuff. A couple of years ago I managed to get rid of my terrible "little bo-peep" style wallpaper, and paint my walls white. White is a good colour is you're allowed to paint your room, but don't know what to do with it, because it's so neutral, but still leaves the room bright, resist the urge to paint it black ;) However painting might be one of those major things, and it's a lot of work if she lets you anyway.
Other than that, if you've got wallpaper, you'll have to be a little more careful, unless it's plastic - I'd suggest sticking anything you find interesting on your walls. Try to keep clear of "Murder Victim found" "Hitchhiker goes missing" headline stories, people tend to get freaked out by them ^.-
A lot of people are in to candles. One reason you could use candles, is if you can't do anything at all to your room, it looks terrible, but it doesn't look so bad when you can't see anything because it's only candlelight :)
If there's anything specific, private question me in my column. A more specific description of what your room is like, and why you dislike it would be useful. Otherwise, hope I gave you a few useful ideas.

FakeArms answered Thursday August 4 2005, 6:11 am: Well, here are some ideas.
1. Buy some cheap clip frames. You could put postcards in them, or pictures from magazines, or even things printed from the internet.
2. Buy some nicely-patterned fabric from a market or a cheap fabric store to use as a bedspread. You just lay it over the bed after you have cut it to size.
3. Tidy up, and move arond the furniture you already have. It can make a big difference to a room. If the room is big enough, consider making a study area, reading area or an area where you can hang out with friends.
4. If you have some spare money, things like fairy lights, cheap rag rugs, new lampshades, prints or candles can make a big difference.
Hope this helps. [ FakeArms's advice column | Ask FakeArms A Question ]
