I'm sure most of you ladies who straighten your hair have heard of the product called "Maxiglide". It's a hair straightening iron that is shown on infomercials. I was wondering if anyone owns it and could tell me if it's actually worth paying the $100+ for it. I have EXTREMELY thick/curly hair. Has anyone tried it? Does it work? I don't want to make such a great investment on something I'm not sure is even going to work.

Brunette27 answered Monday August 1 2005, 12:10 am: Get a Chi Straightener. It's in that price range adn it works REALLY good- ask anyone who has it. I wouldn't get anything from an infomercial. [ Brunette27's advice column | Ask Brunette27 A Question ]
JustAskAlli answered Sunday July 31 2005, 10:52 pm: I have Maxiglide. I got it for Christmas last year. Yes, it DOES work.
Theres 1 problem though :
It says on the infomercials, that you can EVEN straighten your hair with it while your hair is even wet, NO. NO you cannot. I've tried it. First of all, it burns your hair strands, and ruins your straightner. But if your hair is dry, i guarantee it will help curly & thick hair.
DeeSireDiOr answered Sunday July 31 2005, 10:31 pm: Hey
Yes it is worth it. My friend has been using it for about a year now. It works like a charm.
And let me tell you my friend has really thick, frizzy, curly hair. But im sure if you go to cvs or any other pharmacy you could get a perfectly good straightener for less then 40 dollars.
But it's up to you. Do what you feel is right.
