forgot my password to my computer

does anyone know how to get into your computer without knowing the password.. this IS MY computer not someone elses.. the police just gave it back and i forgot the password. anything besides reformating. thanks bunches in advance. p.s. this isnt my computer this is the computer ive been using since i didnt have mine i just got mine back.

log in as default and setup a new account and password for your computer.Restart and login on that acccount.
