Teen_Guru answered Tuesday July 19 2005, 3:26 pm: Depending on your age, home size, and parents, here is one way that MIGHT work. First talk to her (your mother) explain why you want a dog. Once you explain that tell her what are you willing to do for it (clean in, feed it, buy its food, walk it, pick ups its poo, etc.) you don’t have to do all them. Use MORE of them if you start losing her. Also a help full tip would that you save your Heavy Artilleries (things that would she will be impress by) for later, start off small and work you way up. Note do be TOO willing to do EVERYTHING, you might be getting more than you bargain for.
There are more things you can do, but by doing this method it makes it seem like you’re becoming more responsible (equaling MORE RESPECT!)!
I hope it works out Let me know if I helped and if it works out.

P.S. One more Tip –if your mother still doesn’t believe you would be responsible for a dog, Prove her wrong by doing things around the house without being ask, doing what your ask when you’re ask to, etc. it is a killer move but be warn, Use it as a last resort. Then, decide on the breed. Get your mom actively involed in the process. Animal Planet has an excellent breed selector to help find the perfect breed. ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location))
BlondeBabe0282 answered Tuesday July 19 2005, 3:08 pm: You have to let her know that you're serious about it. You should try to show a sense of responsibilty. No whining! Maybe you should even offer to pay for a portion of the dog. Make sure to talk to her when she's in a good mood. [ BlondeBabe0282's advice column | Ask BlondeBabe0282 A Question ]
