The morning after pill can be taken up to 5 days after the fact, although it works better if taken within 72 hours. The morning after pill works by preventing you from ovulating, keep the egg or sperm from moving, block fertilization, or change the lining of your uterus so the fertilized egg can't implant. Go to the planned parenthood office and tell them you suspect you may be pregnant and they will run a pregnancy test on you to see if you are.

The chances of you being pregnant are slim but still a possibility. Are you having any symptoms? Nausea, breast tenderness, sensitivity to smell, being more emotional, having to pee a lot, etc are all symptoms of pregnancy.

To prevent a pregnancy scare in the future, have your boyfriend wash his hands before he fingers you. Also when you go to the planned parenthood office, ask them about contraceptives. They can help you decide which one will be best for you as well as often provide you with contraceptives at little or no cost.

I am not sure how the morning after pill works in the USA, In Britain, where I am, you are required to sign a form, stating when your last period was, the name and address of your Doctor. You sign one part and the other is forwarded to you GP.
It is NOT a pill that is handed out like candy.
It works by activating certain hormones in your body which will cause a premature period, thus expelling the embryo. It is also extremely painful.

Well, you have to buy it and it's just like taking an asprin. However, I must warn you that the morning after is not a safe pill even though it has been out on the market for a few years now. It killed 2 girls that I know of so far (not ones that I knew personally but I heard about it on the news). Taking the morning after pill messes up your reprodictive system and it may cause you not to be able to have children again. If you walk into planned parenthood ANYWAY, they have a gynocologist there and they will check you out for FREE and give you a pregnancy test for FREE, so instead of going as far as thinking about the pill, just go to planned parenthood and get checked out there.
