see, im a prep kind of person. but lately (like the past 6 months) ive been listening to music like the blood brothers, system of down, from first to last, my chemical romance and etc. and ive been thinking about seriously going punk or whatever. but im to afriad to come out of my prep mold. what would you suggest?

Honestly, I think that labels are stupid. You can still dress the way you dress and act the way you want and listen to the kind of music you want to listen to. Just dress the way you feel comfortable and listen to whatever you like. Sorry if it's not the answer you were looking for! But I'm really the wrong person to ask question to about lables and all that! So sorry if I didn't help!!
