Question Posted Wednesday June 22 2005, 3:51 pm

Hey guys!! My friend and I are pooling together, (15 bucks each) to get our guy friend a going-away present. He's about to be a freshman, and he's moving to Pennsylvania if that helps. We don't really know what exactly we can get him. Anyone have any ideas? I'll rate 5's for good ideas! Thanks. xo

A freshman can always use a really good dictionary. There is also a nice Pennsylvania atlas available that consists of topographic maps of the whole state, which would be good if he likes to hike or do other outdoors things. Or you could get him a funny Pennsylvania t-shirt.

When I moved in 9th grade, a group of my friends gave me a "new town care package" as a gift. I loved it. They decorated the box, and put a letter in the top cover explaining each item.

Ideas to put in a care package (modify slightly for a guy, make it not so cutesy):
- stationary and stamps (don't forget to include your addresses)
- phone card
- disposible camera (he can send you pics of his new town and new friends)
- map from new town to old town (so no excuse not to visit)
- framed picture of you guys (decorate the frame for a personal touch)

girl 30 bucks all together u can get him a couple of gifts maybe like a really good quility hat of his fave brand, like nike, element, beer, trucker hats,or a plain color one that would look fresh.
buy a camera and take all 27 pics of just the three of yall at memerable places like the mall, each others house, outside and just places where you guys have some good memories at.get them developed and tell him not to look at them till he gets to where he is moving.
