Taxes

Question Posted Saturday June 18 2005, 9:59 pm

16/F

Ok. I got a job a little less than a month ago and I dont really understand the whole tax thing. It seems like on my paycheck that they took out almost half in taxes...

When I was filling out my W2 (i think thats it...it was some kind of tax form) I "claimed" 0...should I have claimed 1, myself?- Would this make a difference?
Also, does that ^ have anything to do with my paychecks or just the yearly taxes you do.
Could someone please explain this to me.

And please only answer this if you know what im talking about...i know its a teen advice site, but some people here should be able to help me...

Thanks!

0 means theyll take out the most, 1 means theyll take out less. but you can change it. you'll get a refund though april 15th time no matter what. so youll get more of the refund that annual time if you dont change the 0. if you want more to show up on ur paycheck, then change it to a 1.

hope this helps!- :)
