my nasty breasts

Question Posted Saturday June 11 2005, 9:28 am

When I was 12 in nov 2003, I was hit on both of my breasts very hard. After that, they startedd to burn for a couple of days and nothing was wrong. Then a few months later, they start to feel lumpy, hard, they look pointy and tubular, the right 1 is way bigger than the other 1 and the left 1 looks to the left while the right 1 looks straight (which is good!) P.S. Everyone in my family has grew at my age and I'm 14. Skinny girls like me have bigger breasts than me, I know the reason why they won't grow is because I got hit on them a bunch of times!!!!!!! This aint fair......
My questions are:

Will I ever grow again??
What's wrong with them??
Do I have breast cancer??
Will I ever need surgery??
Thanks for your help if you help me

THis is a dilemma. I think you should see a doctor, that is the only way to be sure. You could have scar tissue in your breast, and scar tissue doesn't grow, and it CAN interfere with the normal growth of your breast. Breast or made of fat tissue, milk glands, and of course arteries, veins and nerves for feeling. While you may not be in pain, scar tissue has no feelings, the normal beast tissue that is trying to grow around it, will not be able to grow normally, and that could be painful. NO I do not think that you have cancer, but I do think this condition can increase your chances of getting cancer when you are older. I think you may very well need surgery whether now or in the future, only a physician can tell. The scar tissue may prevent you from breast feeding. And while you many not know now whether or not you want to breast feed, a physician looking at your situation now, would want to restore that function to your breast, if it is possible.

So bottom line. YOu need to have your breast examined first by an OB/GYN doctor, and you can find a female one if you like. And she may send you for a mamogram or a sonogram, which will enable them to look inside the breast tissue to see what is in there, if they find scar tissue, I think they will recommend that it be removed.
I doesn't belong there, and it can interfere with too many things.
Now, I think because you are young, you may still be on your parents insurance, so now would be the best time to go see the OB/GYN for the exam, so the insurance can pay for the visit and any other recommended services. I hope you have insurance, anyway.
I hope this helps. I really think you need to have a doctors opinion to be sure. And if nothing is wrong, then you can have peace of mind.
I hope your mother agrees and will take you to the OB/GYN for a breast exam.
Good luck honey, let me know how you make out.
