I want to be emancipated Hi my name is Britney and I am from North Carolina. For about 5 years DSS has been involved with my famliy. When I was 15 they removed me from my home and I havn't been back since but it wasn't the first time they removed me either. But now I live with a foster famliy and they are still on my back. Now I've got a bigger problem I think I'm pregant. I don't want DSS to find out but i know they will. So I am trying to become emancipated. I don't know how hard that will easy that will be I know the state laws and everything but I don't have a car or my license. I have a job though. What should i do???

Honestly, I'm not sure about this situation. I don't even really know why it would be bad for DSS to find out that you are pregnant. Plus, if you were 15 when you were removed, and it's been five years, then that would make you an adult, capable of making your own decisions and wouldn't need to become emancipated.
You don't really need your car or licence do you? A lot of people don't have cars. You can fix the license thing by learning how to drive and taking your test. If you have a job, and have been able to keep that job up until now, then you should have no problems keeping it further.
What do you know about the father? Is he going to be helping you at all? Does he even know? You need to think about getting help from him, if that is a possibility. I'm all for "I am woman, hear me roar, I don't need help from anyone, I can do everything on my own" but, if you can get help from a decent human being, then take it.
That may not be an option, or even a smart thing do to depending on the father and how "Decent" he is.
I'm not sure if I can help you with much of this. I think you should talk to MFS: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) He's smart and all that good junk, and would be more likely to be able to help you out than I can. ]
