FunnyCide answered Saturday May 28 2005, 10:16 am: Okay. I'm not sure if you're talking about question rating (if you're a moderator, you rate questions...) or if you're talking about rating answers that people give you. I'll outline both.
Answer Rating: When someone answers a question you've asked (like this one), you'll have the option of rating the answer on a scale of 1-5, 1 being really bad advice, 5 being totally teriffic advice. There will be five numbers lined up at the very bottom of the answer given, just above the columnist's name. I think it says something like "rate this answer". Click on the number you feel is appropriate for the answer given. Basically, the way admin lined it out, the ratings mean this:
1 = pretty bad advice
2 = not harmful, but not helpful either
3 = decent enough advice
4 = good advice
5 = really awesome advice
Once you choose your rating for the answer in hand, click on the number. You will be redirected to a new page, where you have the option of leaving feedback. Feedback is where you're given the option of saying something about the advice that was given. If the advice was really bad, you might say "that wasn't helpful.." or if it was really good you might say "thanks so much!" etc, etc. Just whatever you want to say. Columnists typically enjoy and appreciate kind feedback. This link will help you understand it even more:
Question Rating:
Once you've been a member of Advicenators for 30 days, you've answered a certain number of questions and have a rating average over 3.8, you can be a moderator. You start as a level 1 moderator, and you rate questions. This link tells you all about it:
Karen answered Saturday May 28 2005, 10:08 am: When someone answers a question, the person has the option of rating their answer; like I'm answering this question. Right under my answer, there a the numbers 1-5, where a 1 means the person gave horrible advice and a 5 means the person give good/great advice. Go to this site for more information on ratings; [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
