It works out like "hand in hand" with Ebay, because if you buy something, you pay someone through your Paypal account [you can set up to pay by credit card or bank account, or both] and if you sell something, the person will simply send the money to your Paypal account, and then you tell Paypal you want your money by check [whenever you want to, there's no need to do it everytime]. It works out great if someone [parents, friends] want to send you money or if you need to pay something. I'm like a Paypal Expert =] so if you need to ask ANYTHING else, do not hesitate to ask. Michele answered Friday May 27 2005, 8:04 pm: You use paypal to buy things over the internet. LIke on ebay. You need a credit card to open a paypal account. I have ond and I used to to sell things on ebay. The winning bidder would send money to my paypal account, and I would go there and ask paypal to send me a check or wire the money to my bank account. I also paid for things that I bought. NOt just on ebay. I used to go to this web page to buy large quanitities of bubble wrap for shipping glass ware. I would pay for the bubble wrap with my paypal account. Paypal would charge my credit card, or take the funds out of my account, and pay the guy who then shipped me the bubble wrap. If you are on paypal as a BUYER. and people PAY YOU for things you have for sale, than Paypal keeps a percentage of the money that is paid to you.
SO keep that in mind.
If you sell on ebay they keep a percentage too.
Before you know, you're not making any money, but everyone else is. That is why I don't sell on ebay anymore.
Oh well, Hope this helped.

The only person that should have access to your checking account is you. So if you can tell them the exact amount of the deposits, then they know you are authorized to recieve and spend money for that checking account. It is done for security reasons and to make sure the account has been set up correctly. You can use paypal to pay someone who has either a paypal account or a known email address or to get money from other account memebers. Hope that's what you wanted to know.
