Michele answered Wednesday May 25 2005, 10:30 am: When people go out of their way to annoy us, like she does by flirting with your boyfriend, and you get annoyed. She wins! Yes you give her control over your emotions. Secretly she loves it when she pisses you off. As you would if you pissed her off, but it is a contest that could never end, and someone is going to get more frustrated than the other, and since you are writing, looking for advice, then I would say that you are the one who is the most frustrated right now. Don't let her get to you. Don't let her win. It will annoy her even more. Invite her to flirt with your boyfriend. Give her every opportunity. She will be surprised and won't know what to do. Always SMILE and LOOK CONFIDENT. Like you don't have a care in the world, and that she is NO THREAT to you. If you are convincing, then she will stop. She is only doing it to piss you off. These are the kinds of things that young girls do to each other. It is awful, but it does change. Young women are not like that. We all grow up and mature at some point.
The best thing you can do to both of them is act like you don't care. I know it's hard, but just try it, and pay attention to HOW SHE ACTS, not what she says. BUT NOW SHE ACTS. That is your clue that it is working. Kids, especially girls, get real upset when they can't annoy someone they are trying hard to annoy.
