hey!..i started talking to this guy..and started to like him..but then one night he got into a fight with my best friends brother..and my best friend is colored..(i'm not) well this guy started trippen and calling them the "n" word..and that hurt my friend..well i was talking to the guy i liked about it asking him why he said it and stuff..he said it wasnt him but his brother in law..he said he wouldnt lie to me over something important like that..i dont know what to do..b/c i did at one time like him..but i'm not for sure if he's telling the truth about his brother in law calling my friend the "n" word..what do you think..thanks! :o)

I think you should talk to your friends brother. Ask him to give you a clear description of the guy he was fighting with. If your friends brother knowws the guy, and he says the guy he fought with was the guy you like, i would believe him. The story seems like the guy is getting himself into a dead end..i mean come on his "brother in law"? Are you friends with any of his friends? maybe talk to them about it..who knows maybe the guy you like told his friend the real story. Its not right to assume that the guy you like is guilty, but its all kind of leading back to him isnt it? talk to him again about it and tell him everyone makes mistakes, etc and to just be honest. If hes an overall nice guy, go out with him because we all mess up and slip...he might have said it but not really be racist, maybe he got caught up in the moment. if you go out,and hear of a story like this again, you'll know its time to dump him because your overlooking this incident.
