can someone do this math problem for me and show all the work i tried about a million times and i cant remember how to get it done.
viki has $2.80 in quarters and dimes. The number of dimes is 7 less than the number of quarters. find the number she has of each kind.

Then put q under number because you dont know how many quarters you have then 25 for price because a quarter is 25 cents then for dime put q-7 in the box for number because you know its 7 less than quarter but you dont know what quarter is then put 10 for price because a dime is wroth 10 cents.. then you multiply number by price boxes which gives you 25q and 10q-70.. make that an equation set equal to 280

I really don't know how I solved this because these type of math problems are easy to me. Well, 10 quarters is the same as $2.50 and if Viki needed to have dimes that were 7 less than the number of quarters, then she has 3 dimes and 10 quarters. If you covert these into cents and dollars, the total sum is $2.80.
