Prom or Best Friend?
Ever since sophmore year when i found out about prom I have wanted to go, I buy the magazines to pick out pretty dresses and dream about yummy food. This year I've been asked by one of my FRIENDS to go- but my best friend thinks that my date is trash and that I only want to go to make people mad ex. people covet my date, my boyfriend (who is a lower classman and cannot attend prom. How do I explain to her that i want to go just to have a fun time and that i have the BEST OF INTENTIONS for going? Please help because she is my BEST FRIEND and I really value her opinion and friendship, although we don't always agree on things.

Yeah, so Elizabeth, I know you are your own person and you can make choices for yourself. And I could possibly just be being too cautious about this but that's me and you know that. I know how much you love stuff like that and I know that you would probably enjoy yourself. But at the same time I am seeing situations that can arise that I don't think you are seeing right now. Elizabeth, I know you and you know that. I also know that no matter how much you say it isn't I know there is a part of you even if it's small that wants to go to Prom just to kind of see what you have been missing around Taylor and kind of to make Bry mad and to just be there to be there. I know Steven is just your friend, and I don't think you are hurtful enough to hurt Will, but you give into people easily and with that someone is bound to get hurt. Also, I do not think it is fair for you to make your parents spend a ton of money on it, or to make Steven and his family etc. I want the best for you and the only reason I am disappointed is because you are such a nice girl and NOT trashy and Steven and all them are trashy, and I don't want you to have that label. If you are going to go, I think that you should be ready to reap the consequences of what's going to hapen with you and Steven and you and Will. I'll still always be your BEST FRIEND no matter what happens. Just go with what your HEAD and HEART are telling you. :)
