I have a miniature daschound he is a little over a year old, he got into some vanilla icecream last night that had oreo cookies in it. I hear that dogs arent suppose to eat chocolate. Should it hurt my dog? Please respond.

Yes, it is bad for dogs. Dogs have serious allergies to Theombromine, which is found in chocolate. The symptoms can range from diarhea to all out seizures and possibly death.

But, don't listen to anyone that says "my dog ate ten pounds of chocolate, and he's fine, so your dog should be fine"
Chocolate poisoning is very serious in dogs. Contact a Veterinarian and tell him what happened if you haven't already done so. Your dog may be fine if you are not already seeing symptoms, but it would be beneficial if you took your dog in for examination with a Vet to be completely sure.
