Belly button piercings.
I'm working on trying to convince my mother to let me get my bellybutton pierced. My only questions are how long does it take to close even after you've had the piercing for more than 6 months? Also- I really need to try to convince her that it's not a huge deal about me getting it pierced, what should I tell her (or what should I not tell her) about belly button piercings?

Well, they hurt...a lot! If you don't mind the pain, tell her if you go to a lisensed place it is safe and sterile. Just keep it cleaned! I know a lot of ppl who's get painfully infected and become sensitive to even their shirt touching it.

if youve had your bellybutton pierced for at least 6 months it will take awhile to close up. if you want to convince your mom to letting you get it pierced show her that you are responsible enough to take care of it-like by doing your chores without being reminded-little stuff like that. ensure her that you will take care of your piercing by cleaning it and making sure it doesnt get infected or anything like that! hope i helped and good luck! ~allie

Once you have had your belly button pierced for 6 months, it takes a while to close up because you've had the ring in for a while. I can help you out here, since I have my belly button pierced and I convinced my mom to finally get mine professionally pierced after I pierced mine 5 times. You need to show your mom that you are responsible. Start cleaning around the house without having your mom telling you. Start doing your homework when you get home and improve your grades. This will help show your mom that you are responsible and she will probably let you get your belly button pierced. Just tell your mom that getting your belly button pierced won't make you look slutty and that it will look good on you if you are skinny. Tell her that you will take care of the piercing and you won't let it get infected and such. The only thing you shouldn't say is begging to get your belly button pierced because it won't do anything when your mom said that you can't. Just ask her every once in a while and that will help.
