I'm working on trying to convince my mother to let me get my bellybutton pierced. My only questions are how long does it take to close even after you've had the piercing for more than 6 months? Also- I really need to try to convince her that it's not a huge deal about me getting it pierced, what should I tell her (or what should I not tell her) about belly button piercings?

I can help you out here, since I have my belly button pierced and I convinced my mom to finally get mine professionally pierced after I pierced mine 5 times. You need to show your mom that you are responsible. Start cleaning around the house without having your mom telling you. Start doing your homework when you get home and improve your grades. This will help show your mom that you are responsible and she will probably let you get your belly button pierced. Just tell your mom that getting your belly button pierced won't make you look slutty and that it will look good on you if you are skinny. Tell her that you will take care of the piercing and you won't let it get infected and such. The only thing you shouldn't say is begging to get your belly button pierced because it won't do anything when your mom said that you can't. Just ask her every once in a while and that will help. Good luck!
