I have this problems with Apropos (this adware thing) that won't leave me alone! I've gone so far as to block ALL popups (including the ones that were needed) but IT STILL WONT LEAVE ME ALONE! How do i get rid of it!?!?!?!?!??!??!

SpySweeper is a good program to use to rid your computer of both adware and spyware.
Really good free ones are

spy bot search and destroy
Adaware-get the latest program, i stopped using it some time back so just look for the newest program

www.microsoft.com/spyware
There you'll be able to download a very very nice and free sweeper also.
