It's basically a piece of skin that's on the inside of your vagina. When it breaks, you will bleed but very little. It's not something to be concerned about. You're hymen can break at any given time. If you're getting your period and you're putting a tampon in, that could break it. Even sitting down on a chair could break it. For most women, it will break when they are fingered or when they lose their virginity. It's really not a medical problem at all, but if it starts to bleed prefusely (a hell of alot of blood), there could be something wrong. I hope this answered your question.
