It could mean a few different things. Have you had your period for awhile, or did you just get it somewhat recently (as in a few months ago, perhaps)? If you have just gotten it, then it is no big deal to skip a period. Some girls, after getting their period, will go for a whole year or so just getting their period like every other month. That's because it takes your body time to get on a normal and predictible schedule. If you have had your period for a long time, and it is usually regular, then my advice would be a little different. It could come from eating differently, or a big change in your lifestyle or sleep schedule. Things like that have been known to throw periods off schedule. Did you lose alot of weight? You need a certain percentage of body fat (I think it is 10-12%) to maintain a regular menstruation cycle. I wouldn't really worry about one missed period, if you miss many more, talk to a doctor or your school nurse about it. There is one exception where it could mean something more serious... if you recently had sex, and you are experiencing other pregnancy symptoms, then there is a chance you may be pregnant. If that's the case, you'll need to take a pregnancy test and definately go see a doctor. I don't mean to make you worried with the pregnancy comment, but I just want to give you every possible reason that you may have skipped your period. Most likely, it is nothing at all to be concerned about, you will find that every once in awhile it is normal to skip a period. Maybe, though, it is just late, and you will get it in a week or so. Alright, I hope that helped a little bit. Leave me a message if you need anything else!
