What is the best way to find out if a girl likes you without making you look like a stupid dumbass?

Ok let the girl know that you will always be there for her not like walking up to her and saying it but showing it though something. Like a card on holidays. Invite her places like to ur house,mall,movies and just try to get to know what she likes. Don't make her feel akward around you though. this will take time not sumthing sudden. I hope i helped and if i didnt im so sorry but keep me posted and if you have anymore question IM me ill answer
