Hey guyz, I'm on the swim team, and I think I'm pretty good. I do great at practice, but then at swim meets I get so scared and I shake the whole way there. I LOVE swimming and it's my favorite sport and hobby. But how do I overcome my fear.
pEaCeOuTwithSunflower answered Monday February 21 2005, 10:51 pm: OMG! I have the same problem with about all the sports I do and chances are a lot of your teammates do to. Here are three easy steps
1. Relax (easier said than done)
One of the best ways to relax before a swim meet is to listen to music or watch a television show you've been dying to see.
2. Practice
Now I know you said you were a good player, but if you practiced everyday for 10 minutes not counting regular practices you'll get better(this helps). When you practice with a certain speed as your goal, you don't have to worry about it the next time a big meet comes up.
3. Have confidence
You sound like your a good player. One of the players that might get overlooked but really adds something to the team. Don't forget that even if you don't win at every swimmeat, noones going to remember ten years from now after you've won Olympic gold.
