Question Posted Monday February 21 2005, 6:37 pm

Hey I think you guys give really awesome advice =)
Well I have this friend who is such an awesome person when it's just me and her... she's so smart and funny and sweet.. but when she's around other people she acts all ditzy. It's really frustrating to see her changing herself for others. No one can see that she's so smart and creative and all that because she seems to force it all away so she can come off as someone she's not.

aWw! thanks!! hehe..
wellll.. ok so here is what this sounds like to me: she's an amazing person/friend when it's just you and her, and maybe some other close friends? but when you're around a large group of people that don't know her as well, she changes personalities.

what i would do is seriously talk to her about it. (i know that i say this all the time, but honestly, it's your best bet!) have you tried to talk to her about it before? what happened? chances are, if she's REALLY a good friend, she wouldn't get mad or upset. tell her 100% how you feel, don't hold back!! but at the same time, try not to come off rude. just tell her that you love the girl you're such great friends with, and you know other people would to! maybe she thinks that her ditzy self is a better first impression, who knows? the only way to find out is to talk to her about it, but gently.
