Siucune answered Sunday February 20 2005, 8:42 pm: Number one way to stop spending: Stop going to the mall.
But, since you seem to enjoy the mall a lot, perhaps you should get a job (housecleaner or babysitter is a good first choice; working for someone you know usually brings about a money plus) and spend in moderation. If you know you're going to buy something, bring $40 dollars or less. If it's over that price, don't even look at it.
If you're just going to hang out, bring about $10 for food or something. [ Siucune's advice column | Ask Siucune A Question ]

hmprincess2009 answered Sunday February 20 2005, 7:39 pm: hey, you can save it by putting it in the bank and getting out when you need it. You can make good money babysitting. When you go to the mall take 10 to 15 dollars and if you see something that you really need then you can buy it!Hope I helped!

Karen answered Sunday February 20 2005, 6:00 pm: 1.) To save money, I suggest that you should open up a savings account at your parent's bank. Once you receive money, put some in your account and then keep the other amount. If you keep on doing this for a while, you will have an amount of money to yourself that you can spend.
2.) To make some money, you can babysit your siblings or neighbors, do some extra chores around the house, walk dogs, shovel people's driveways when it snows, and mow people's lawns in the spring/summer. If you are old enough, you can work at a fast food joint such as Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, or at pizza resturants such as Papa Gino's, Donatos, Dominos, etc.
3.) When you go to the mall, you don't have to do anything; you can walk around and look through stores, without spending your money. If you want to try not to spend all of your money, buy clothes that are on sale or marked down. You should bring about $30.00 if you are going just to hang out with friends but if you are going to shop, you should bring more.
Tell yourself that you can't spend all of your money and that you need to save it. Having your parents holding your money is a great thing because you can tell them to only give you some when you really need it but since you said you didn't want to, then you don't need to, it was just a suggestion.
brittanysays answered Sunday February 20 2005, 5:56 pm: I to have that problem and I find it much easier for money I don't want to spend out of my face..lol. So as an answer to your first question, I would either one, set up a savings account at the bank or two, keep two jars, one for spending money and another for saving money.
2. There are TONS of ways to make money, the hard thing is finding them. If you are like me and not old enough to get a job at a store, you could babysit. For this you must be very responcible. You can also do yardwork or help around peoples houses. If you can't do either of these, ask your parents if there is anything extra to do to make so more moo-la!
3.I have a problem of bringing ALL my money to the mall but thats not very practical so seeing as most things are expensive at the mall I would bring $30. It is a reasonable amount of money. If you feel as if you will spend all of it, bring less. This also depends if you go to the mall almost every weekend. :) If that is so, try to bring $20 or less and limit your purchases.
AmericnJewl answered Sunday February 20 2005, 5:49 pm: Open a savings account at a bank. You can be any age to do this, I opened my first savings when I was 10. Whenever you get money as a gift or for work, deposit 50% into your savings account. Many savings accounts only allow you to take out a maximum of XX dollars out per month, which can control your spending.
As for making money, it depends on how old you are. You can try the old standards, babysitting, housesittingand/or petsitting for neighbors when they go on vacation. You might also be able to get a waitressing job or a retail job (discounts!)
Create a budget for yourself and keep to it. Decide how much you will allow yourself to spend for lunches with friends, clothes, movies/concerts, if you have to pay for your own haircuts, manicures, etc, include those as well.
The most important thing is to keep within your budget!
