The "ball" is her cervix, not the hymen. The bleeding is either your nails scratching the inside or you're tearing the hymen which is located right at the opening of the vagina. When a girl's hymen breaks its not always all at once, you could just slowly be stretching it causing the bleeding. Its fine as long as its not hurting her.

It could possibly be her hymen. Hymens bleed when scratched or broken, so that is probably what you're feeling.
