First relationship

Question Posted Saturday January 29 2005, 9:43 am

ok. well, a couple of weeks ago, i met this guy for the first time. i knew him through a friend, but we'd never met before. i talked to him on msn messenger and texted him and he was really flirty. when i met him, he asked me out, and i said yes, but he seemed really shy. ive just come back from having lunch at his house with his parents, and he still seems kind of shy and akward. i know he hasnt had many girlfriends before, but he always seems embarased and scared to kiss me,and scared that he's going to do something wrong. how can i improve his confidence? and mine? this is my first proper boyfriend and i dont really know what im doing. im 14/f

Since it is his first relationship he's just nervous, and probaly doesn't want to mess anything up. I think maybe you guys should get to know each other more, so you can feel more comfortable with each other, and things won't be so awkward between you. To improve his confidence just let him know that you really like him, and he'll start to let loose a little. It already sounds like you have good confidence so just be yourself, and he should like you.

You need to talk to him and tell him how you feel about his shyness around you. Nothing is going to change unless you talk to him. Try to hang out with him more. Go somewhere fun and he will then not be that shy anymore. As for your confidence, don't worry about it, it'll improve once you hang out with him more. Hope I helped :)
