Secure servers, MSN Explorer and MSN

Question Posted Thursday January 27 2005, 3:47 pm

I'm having several different problems with my Internet connection right now . . . .

1. I can't access ANY secure servers. That includes eBay, Amazon, and my mom's banking website.

2. When I try to log into MSN Explorer, it says that it can't log in because there's a problem with my connection.

3. When I try to log in to MSN Messenger, it says my password is wrong. I know it's not because I had a friend try it at her house. (AFTER I was having the password problems, so even if she had changed my password that wouldn't be it. ^~)

Does anyone know how to fix these problems?

Additional info, added Thursday January 27 2005, 8:56 pm:
Thanks Jhancheer -- this has been going on for a while.

My password is DEFINITELY not wrong and I don't have all-caps on.

My Internet connection is also on, because I'm using it to type this.

I have other browsers than MSN Explorer, but I like that browser and it has all my favourites.

I also don't have a virus (or spyware) because I have McAfee Virus Scan, Microsoft Anti-Spyware and Spybot Search and Destroy.

I did contact my ISP and they said since it wasn't a port problem and my connection wasn't faulty, they had no idea what to do.

Thanks for your help so far.

Have you tried installing firefox, just to see if the problem is systemic, or browser specific?

I would do that. You may also wish to check your settings: tools>InternetOptions>Advanced>Scroll down until you see SSL2.0

Make sure that box is checked as well as the other SSL checkboxes.

Let me know if this is helpful,

Try restarting your modem( its the thing that feeds internet to the rest of the house) if you have broadband that should do it...unplug power on it for 30 seconds then plug it back in, if thats not the prob, i dunno i don tdeal with enet probs that much.

1. never have banking on an internet.. my mom got like $600 stolen from a guy that got our password on the internet and bought stuff and its might be blocked or a virus

2.well it depends on what you have like i had something and it never worked..so it might be disconnected or its not on

3.well is your password capital letters or lower case..so if you have it on something like that it wont work

**i would go see a person that knows about computers because im not an expert

Your best bet is to contact your internet service company. They will know EXACTLY what the problem is. It may be that you have a virus! Hope I helped!
