my BMI is 16 - underweight. i am 14, 82 pounds, and 5'0. im NOT anorexic - dont want to be anorexic - have never been anorexic. or bulimic for that matter. all i want to do is be a healthy weight..and i dont know how to gain weight! help me please

But, you have a thing called High Metabolism (I think thats what it's called), it's where you can eat and eat and still won't gain weight. But, you should check with your doctor and see what you can do about that, because you can't really do anything about that, so you should see your doctor and see what he'll tell you! I'm sorry I can't really help you, but don't worry, NOTHING is wrong with you, I'm like that too though! So, don't worry!! =D I hope this makes you feel alittle bit better or whatever. lorelei answered Thursday January 20 2005, 7:34 pm: Try adding more protein and carbs to your diet. Breads, pasta, meat and certain vegetables. Also, weight training is a good way to add mass to your body without necessarily gaining fat.

Eating a lot probably won't help you gain weight, but weight training (lifting) will! if you go to a local YMCA or gym they should have someone there who can teach you how to lift correctly and give you a good routine. By working with weights you might slim down a little at first, but then you will start gaining as your muscles grow! Make sure that you also eat a variety of foods.
