By eatting really healthy, what do you mean? I advise you to try a low fat diet. Reason why? Your body needs limits on what can be digested, and because you have a slow metabolism as you get older the struggle for staying in shape might be worse.
The low-carb diet does not work. Don't try it. (lol) Instead find a diet that you can stay on for life and when you need to take a day off, it is possible to come back to that diet motivated. Since you're a guy, I think you should consider taking in 4,000 kcalories a day. Stick to the no sugar or sweets method. Just eat regularly. It suprises me why many people find this hard. Meat and veggies are probably ideal for you right now. Throw in fruit if you like it. But limit some fruit, because some have sugars. Keep in mind this isn't a bad kind of sugar. Citrus fruits are okay, but let's take pineapple for example. It has tons of sugars in it, so only have maybe 5-6 peices of it.
5'4 for men- 132-138 is a small frame. The reason why you have a little gut could be just extra fat from foods. I'm not sure about that, so if you're concerned about it ask your doctor. I think you just need to turn that into muscle. Body building is best lol. Try to go to a gym regularly. I know that's hard because of school and activites but try to go on the weekends. They will have a lot of weight lifting equipment. I don't weight life so I'm not sure what kind of machines would help you in your stomach area. Do a lot of sit ups, I know that helps. Ask your gym teacher about this, I'm sure he/she could suggest a few ideas on what could help that area. Good luck!!
Zach_Attack answered Thursday December 30 2004, 11:40 am: Everything is ok, and that gut you have is all part of your genetics. there's nothing you can really do about it. the weight is from all the muscle you have. so 130lbs is pretty normal. muscle weighs more than fat. since you're only 14, chances are you'll grow a little taller, and you'll loose some of that gut. otherwise, its in your genes and there's nothing you can do. i'm sure if i saw you in real life, you would look absolutely beautiful! hope i helped =) [ Zach_Attack's advice column | Ask Zach_Attack A Question ]
