has my friends husband got a right

my friend at work asked me to help with a question and i need a bit of help...she is going through a marrige break up with her husband ...he wants half the housen even thoe she brought the house before they was married can he make her give him half the house or not even though the he has not payed into the house at all

This would mean they have to sell the house and she give him half the profit? As far as I know he can't force her to do this, if the house is solely in her name, but she should really consult her lawyer, as the courts might be able to force her to do this if he puts up a strong enough case.
