Gyno Confidentiality

Question Posted Wednesday December 15 2004, 6:30 pm

hi, next month i have my first appointment for the gnyo, becuase im 15 and have had my period irregular since i starting getting it 4 years ago,so my mom made me an appt...so anyway my concern is that, a couple months ago my boyfirend and I of 9 months decided to take are relationship a little farther and he fingered me, quite intensly and has done it a couple times..(but I have never had sex, and dont plan on it anytime soon)I am worried that the gyno will tell my mom, and i really dont think that my mom wants to hear "oh by the way your daughter has been fingered" and she will be quite dissapointed in me. If i ask should the gyno keep my information confidential?
Thanks

Ok, first of all, the gyno will definitely not be able to tell how far you and your boyfriend have gone. All they will do is ask you a couple of questions about your period and things and I think that your Mum doesn't have to be in the room if you don't want, my mum waited outside. Everything is always totally confidential and you have absolutely nothing to worry about i promise. There is no way whatsoever a gyno will be able to tell if youve been that far or not. Thats not what they look for or are concerned about. You really don't have to worry about!
