theres this guy i like we'll call him "james" well hes an 8th grader and im a 7th grader..
thing is i dunno if he knows who i am or not we were in detention together but i dont think he remembers or anything...and also i want him to know i like him but i dont just wanna come out of nowhere n have ppl tellin him i like him and him not know me
so what im askin is how can i go up to him and start a conversation w/o him freakin out bcuz he doesnt know me and how can i drop hints that i like him??

Well first off. if he doesn't know you then you can't rele like him you only probably like him for his looks you need to get to know him before you actually know the kid. So.. just go up to him at a school dance or something and talk to him or ask if your friends if they know him and have them introduce you 2

okay well my friend had a kind of similer thing goin.. like she saw this guy on a cruise and then she saw him at our school... and she wanted to know who he was... well just be like.. were you in detention like so so days ago... and if he says yes just like introduce yourself or say like ive seen you around school and i jsut wanted to be polite and say something... or something like that... i hope i helped.. just dont say nething that you mite regret or jsut like if you know a friend that knows him just get caught hanging out with her when yall go and talk to him!
