I'm very much in love with a man who is much older than I am. We have so much in common, and he's so sweet and caring. He's made it perfectly clear that he loves me, and he puts no type of sexual pressure on me. The only problem is that people constantly tell me that being with him is a bad idea because of the age difference. Is age really that important? Should this cause us to end our relationship?

He sounds like a keeper to me. However, you didn't provide me your age. If you're under 18, then technically your parents could prevent you from seeing him, possibly by pressing charges on him.
However, if you're over 18, or if your parents aren't the ones who don't approve, I say ignore the hecklers and be with the guy.
