i love my boyfriend VERY much, but hes always So down on himself. he calls himself stupid, ugly, and says he doesnt deserve me ALL THE TIME. when i talk to him about it, he says his mom is always putting him down and he feels like hes nothing and he has no future and he feels like hes just going to bring me down if i stay with him. i want to be with him forever.... but its hard to deal with him always putting himself down. he tries not to but sometimes it slips. i really wish i could make him love himself. What can i do? Im almost 16, female....

One of my really best friends used to do this all the time and I finally got fed up with him and like yelled at him. I told him if he was so sick of his dad yelling at him and always beating him up and putting himself down then to prove to his parents that he isn't a worthless piece of shit. I told him that I didn't think that he was a loser and all this other stuff. Maybe you should tell him that. I don't think there is anyway you can make him love himself. Find something he can do that can make him feel proud of himself. Try doing something he enjoys. And everytime he accomplishes something or does good on something congradulate him or something. Make him feel special. All he needs is a little attention, thats all he's striving for.

Well, i dont doubt the fact that he is a great guy, but tell him the specific things that are great about him. Like when he smiles it alwasy amkes you feel like everything is ok. Or how awesome he is whenever he is playing basketball (those just examples, i have no idea if he has a great smile or if he even plays bball, but you get my point) I hope i helped somewhat :)

Explain to him how much he means to you. He should probably talk to his mom and tell her how he feels!

hey! tell him you love him for who he is and that you wouldnt be with him if he was stupid and nothing. make him feel like he deserves you and that you truly care about him. its hard to deal with those people, but you probably know him better than anyone, if anyone can make him love himself, you can! just try your best. it will make a difference no matter what yuo do, cause he knows that you have tried because you care. you can do it! peace and love!
