I am always paranoid that people are lying to me. My boyfriend will say something nice like: I think you are beautiful and I just can't accept it. I am always convinced that my boyfriend doesn't really like me and wants to break up with me. What should I do?
PerkyPeacock answered Saturday November 6 2004, 12:50 pm: honey... if he wanted to break up with you he definitely wouldn't be telling you you're beautiful. he loves you! i don't think i can really tell you to take the compliment to heart, however, i can suggest that if it continues to bother you, you try to get a little help outside an advice forum... it may be something we can't help with.
on that note, when he says it, just tell yourself that he loves you and that you are beautiful. and say thanks!

You put yourself down and it's not right. Give yourself a little more credit. [ Invincible_Once's advice column | Ask Invincible_Once A Question ]
