1. the process is having ur hair layered. like in the front for example from the middle of ur forehead ur hair will be shorter then the hair near ur ears u get wut i'm saying? and u have the choice of having the back layered or not. it would be better if the back is layer too. so it's even looking.
2. it depends where u go and how much they cost but usally like between $20-$40 and depends how long and much ahir u have.
3. for me there isn't really any positive or negative. it makes ur hair look pretty and have a better style or something.
anything else u can let me kno. take care. hope i helped! x3 SweetStar. [ SweetStarx89's advice column | Ask SweetStarx89 A Question ]

I, am solid proof that the two are VERY different, and layering doesnt really make your hair thinner. My hair, is super thick, and i straighten it tons. But even when i used to straighten it, it would be thick and poofy. So, what i did was went to get my hair cut, as i normally would, but i asked my stylist to thin it out around the back, where it was the poofiest. She did just that, and i've kept up with it ever since. But not EVERY time i get it cut, because it CAN be bad for your hair, if you do it too often. Super thick hair is a pain, and thinning it out gives you a lot more options on styles and such. It usually doesn't cost more, if you're already cutting/trimming it.
freakerouter07 answered Sunday September 26 2004, 8:04 pm: 1)im not exactly sure what the process is but i hear it involves these really weird scissors...
2)20-35 dollars usually
3)NEGATIVES: even though thin hair seems to look better, its not good for your hair and when you're old you'll have even less! POSITIVES: you can do more styles, less time to dry, ect...i hope i helped! [ freakerouter07's advice column | Ask freakerouter07 A Question ]
Laura answered Sunday September 26 2004, 4:08 pm: Well, really, I get my hair thinned all the time and it's included in my regular hair cut. All you do is ask your stylist, while you're getting your hair cut, to thin your hair. She/he will take a little, what looks like a lice comb and run it through your hair, and basically it just takes some of the underneath hair out and your hair still looks full but it's easier to manage. It costs nothing as long as you're getting a hair trim/cut/style, they'll just do it if you ask them. Positives are it's easier to manage, it's obviously not as thick, and it's a lot cooler during summer. I can't really think of any negatives.
