Question Posted Wednesday September 15 2004, 6:14 pm
I don't know why I am on this site to ask about this, but I will do it anyway. I am a highschool student age 15 in 9th grade. I'm getting bad grades but I think it might be because I have so much homework and I just don't have time for it. Or maybe its just I get distracted easy and want to do other things. The problem is most of my friends are smart and have there work done at school and have little homework and are always distracting me by wanting to hang out...so I do that instead of homework a lot and get behind. I doubt you will have an answer for this..but I thought I might try.

Godsman answered Wednesday September 15 2004, 6:25 pm: Well all I can really tell ya is what I did when I was in high school. And I came out alive so maybe it's good advice. Do your best to get your work done in class. That's what you're at school for is to do your work...plus you have teachers there that can help you. (they should anyway) I know some teachers pile on the work and some even add more work at the end of class specifically for homework...but just do as much as you can in class. I tried to make myself do my homework that I did have first thing when I got home. A lot of times that didnt work because I, like you, had friends that wanted to do things. But do what u can do in class and then what is left try to get done right away. I would be a hypocrite to tell you not to proctastinate because I do it myself a lot...but it will kill you if you do it ALL the time. So give yourself a break SOMETIMES and it will relieve you from from being stressed out ALL the time. Just don't wait for the due date on everything. Get ahead so that you can take a break when appropriate. That's all I can say...hope I helped! Feel free to ask me anything else you might want to.
