Question Posted Tuesday September 14 2004, 7:35 pm

alright so im 16 and about a week ago i lied to my parents every night about what i did...id say i went to dinner and a movie or something like that but really i went out to party...well they found out and they found out i drank and stayed out past 12(when i stayed over at my friends house) and pretty much...im grounded for a long time until they feel like they can trust me again.this is not the first time this has happened, but its the worst ive ever done it and its the worst punishment ive gotten. i've lost my car as well and all im allowed to do is go tan, shool, dance and work.my mom keeps asking me how im going to earn their trust back but im not sure how im going to...other than talking to them, i mean really they cant test me cause im grounded and im sure they wouldnt test me cause they dont trust me. do you have any ideas of how i can get them to trust me again? thanks a lot!:)

Hello =) Do well in school, if you show that you are mature enough to study, then that is a plus. Show your parents that you are mature and you WON'T do it again. Don't beg your parents to unground you, that will get them even more frusterated. Just go on with your life, and GIVE IT TIME. It might take a while, but it takes a while to build up trust. Do responsible stuff with your friends, and always have your parents pick you up from the location, so they know that you are not anywhere else. You can try talking to them and telling them know that you learned your lesson, and you won't do it again. Tell your parents that you took your newly independent life style for granted. I hope I helped, drop one in the inbox if you'd like =) <3 Steph
