As far as I know there are no side effects from the pill I use, but the long term effects are that you have a higher chance of getting breast cancer, so its suggested that you try and not go on it for as long as you can. I went on it when I turned 17, as I had a new b/f. The doctor I saw was very reasuring and she gave me lots of information, so if you need more info your doctor or a clinic is the best way to go.
Hope I helped and good luck *hug* [ DruidX's advice column | Ask DruidX A Question ]

periods—only 4 a year. But you're also more likely to have spotting and breakthrough bleeding between pill periods than with a 28-day birth control pill. Breakthrough bleeding may vary from slight spotting to a flow much like a regular pill period. These symptoms are common in the early cycles—they happen as your body adjusts to the hormones. They should decrease over time. Breakthrough bleeding usually doesn't indicate any serious problems. Taking SEASONALE® at the same time every day can minimize spotting or breakthrough bleeding.
