I got three parakeets about four or five days ago, and I am feeling a little overwhelmed when it comes to taming and training them. One of my birds has made more progress than the other two, he accepts touching and some perching on my finger. The second bird runs away whenever he is approached, but once he is caught and gently held, he will put up with very brief touching. He is beginning to let me reach out to him. The third parakeet is a crafty little guy. He runs and climbs fast and will easily evade any attempts to gently capture and hold him. Once he is caught, he bites for all he's worth. I love all my birds and want to tame them so that I can take them out of the cage and enjoy their company, but the training attempts I have made aren't making much noticeable progress. Is there something more I could be doing, or is this the way it goes for the first week or so? (I am a first time bird owner.) Thanks for your time and any suggestions you may have, and my apologies for the length of the question!
