Reading answers to a certain question somebody asked about homosexuality, i stumbled upon your answer. Im sure in your mind it was well thought, and well answered. I dont mean to go and burst your bubble, and yes everyone has different opinions but you are very mislead on the christian subject. "Ruth and Naomi" & "Jonathan & David" were not couples. You are very mislead and not only are you weak in your knowledge you went ahead and spread the misconstrued information. Not only does that suprise me its kind of sad. Christians love all people, they love the sinner, hate the sin. So yes in a sense you are right that they will except homosexualities in there church but it doesnt mean they encourage or agree with their sin... that is in any church. I just hope for the next time you'll check your info over. Not to bother you, I really want to keep this civilized not argumentative, if you have something to support your argument, thats fine, I am more than ready to hear it. Thanks for reading.

You, in fact, are weak in your knowledge of how different churches approach homosexuality. What you said is that some churches accept (not "except"; I'm an English major as well) homosexuals but no churches condone homosexuality. This is just not true. For example, my uncle and his partner have been welcome, active members of their church for many years and were even married in that church. Not all Christians view homosexuality as a sin. The languagues the Bible was originally written in, Hebrew and Greek, have no word for homosexual, sex, or romantic love. Any Biblical passages condemning homosexuals are gross mistranslations. You are right that there are different interpretations of the relationships between Biblical couples such as Ruth and Naomi. However, "I will go where you go, I will live where you live; your people will be my people, your God will be my God. I will die where you die and be buried beside you. May the Lord punish me if we are ever separate, even by death." are pretty strong words for a woman to be saying to another woman. This passage is often used in weddings and inscripted on wedding rings. This is just one example of the evidence that points to Ruth and Naomi's love relationship. Look up information on David and Jonathon and you'll find compelling evidence of their love for one another as well. I do not believe anything I've said is misleading.
