hi. i am 13 years old, about 5 foot 6 or 5 foot 5 and 112 pounds. am i overweight??

"[Link](Mouse over link to see full location); (Body Mass Index)? It's a formula that determines if you are at a healthy weight for your height. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is healthy. A 5 foot 5.5 (I averaged the two heights you gave me) person weighing 112 pounds has a BMI of 18.4. You are actually slightly <i>under</i>weight. There is actually a different way of calculating this for children and teens, but I assure you that the results would be similar. Until a doctor tells you you're overweight, don't worry about it. According to the BMI, a person of your height is a healthy weight until s/he hits 152 pounds, so keep eating all the pasta you want. Also, as hard as it is, remember that the beauty standards presented in magazines and other media are unrealistic and often unhealthy.
